The Meyner Center is pleased to announce that we are assisting Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, with the recruitment of its new Police Chief.  This is an excellent opportunity to assume command of a mid-size department whose Chief is retiring after 25 years in the position.  The advertisement is:

Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, is currently seeking applications for the position of Police Chief.  The Township is located in a beautiful section of the Bethlehem-Allentown suburbs, and is financially stable. The Chief manages a department of 19 FT/2 PT sworn officers and 6 civilian employees. The Township has a population of 13,500 (40,000 daytime) with 11 square miles and a police budget of approximately $2.3 million.  The current Chief has retired after 25 years as Chief; he/she works under the direction of the Township Manager, and plans, organizes, supervises all functions of the Police Department to include patrol, investigations, and administration. The person must be community-focused and have the leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to maintain and advance the department’s standing as a progressive, professional, and innovative police agency.  Applicants must possess the minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, and have demonstrated, executive potential with at least fifteen years of law enforcement experience, including a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a command position. The candidate must be certified by MPOETC and possess a current Act 120 certification, or be capable of becoming certified. The salary range is $100-110,000 with an excellent benefit package; exact salary will depend on qualifications/experience. Deadline for applications is noon, July 26, 2019.
